Sugar snap peas are edible pod peas that grow on vines during cooler seasons. They are a cross between snow peas and garden peas. The whole pod is edible and can be eaten raw or cooked. Sugar snap peas are typically planted in early spring when the soil can be worked. You can plant them in the fall for a winter harvest if you live in a warmer climate.

Trellising is recommended for sugar snap peas as it helps to keep the vines upright and healthy. You can use nylon netting or other types of trellises.

Here are four tips for taking care of sugar snap peas growing on a trellis:
Sugar snap peas require consistent moisture, so water them regularly.
Sugar snap peas do not require much fertilizer, but you can add compost to the soil before planting.

Pinch off the tips of the vines when they reach the top of the trellis to encourage branching.
Regularly pick pods to encourage the plant to produce more pods.

Sugar snap peas are a delicious and nutritious addition to any garden. They are easy to grow and care for and can be enjoyed raw or cooked. Happy gardening!
