Seasonal Kale Harvest: Tips for Suburban Gardeners in Zone 8b United States

Photo/Video by: Tom Myrick; -‘Time to Harvest Kale’-

Last March, we planted kale plants and harvested the lower foliage throughout the season, leaving the top to continue growing. Now, it’s time to clear the area where the kale was grown and replace it later in the season with tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers.

Meanwhile, we have lettuce growing indoors that is ready to be cropped at the soil level. By doing this, the lettuce will regrow.

Finally, we can use the freshly harvested kale and lettuce to make a delicious mixed greens side salad. Bon Appetit!
